How to Price Pest Control Services

Pest control is priced as a one-time treatment or a recurring plan, with a higher first visit and separate prices for termites, bed bugs and rodents. Here are the published rates, what moves a quote, and a worked first-year example.

Typical prices for pest control

These are consumer-facing figures from 2026 cost guides, not rules. They show where the market sits so you can tell whether your price is far above or below it.

What is pricedPublished 2026 range
One-time service, 1,500 sq ft home (Angi)$300 – $550
One-time or quarterly visit (HomeGuide)$100 – $270
Initial visit of an ongoing plan (Angi)$150 – $300
Monthly plan, per visit (Angi / HomeGuide)$40 – $70 / $40 – $60
Quarterly plan, per visit (Angi)$100 – $300
Annual plan (Angi)$300 – $550
Pest or termite inspection (HomeGuide)$75 – $150, often free
Cockroaches (Angi)$100 – $600
Rodents (Angi / Thumbtack)$180 – $600 / $276 – $886
Bed bugs (Angi)$1,000 – $4,000
Hourly rate for an exterminator (Angi, earwig guide)$75 – $150

The sources disagree. Angi's headline says one-time visits for a 1,500 sq ft home run $108 to $261, while its own table lists $300 to $550 for a one-time service. HomeGuide shows company examples: Terminix $100 to $500 for a one-time visit and $500 to $800 a year for a plan, Orkin $150 to $600 and $500 to $1,000. Compare several sources and your local competitors.

One-time job or recurring plan

A one-time treatment solves a current problem. A recurring plan prevents the next one and gives you predictable income. Angi notes that ongoing services include treatment to keep ants, ticks, fleas and termites at bay, and that monthly visits cost less per treatment than a one-off. Quote both when you can; customers often take the plan once they see the per-visit price.

What moves the price

Compare the annual total

A customer comparing $125 per quarter with $50 per month is really comparing $500 with $600, and the first visit may add more. Show the first-year total and the renewal total so the number the customer remembers is the one you meant.

Check the price against your costs

Estimate the time per visit including drive time, multiply by your hourly cost, then add product, fuel, insurance and overhead. A route-based business should also price for density: several customers on the same street are worth more than the same number scattered across town. See how to calculate labor cost and your overhead rate, and use the hourly rate calculator to find your floor.

A worked first-year quote

One 1,500 sq ft home on a quarterly general pest plan, using example rates (yours will differ):

Initial service with inspection, 1 × $225$225.00
Three further quarterly visits, 3 × $125$375.00
First-year total$600.00

Renewal year: 4 × $125 = $500.00. Check it against the market: $225 is inside Angi's $150 to $300 initial visit, $125 is inside both Angi's $100 to $300 and HomeGuide's $100 to $270 quarterly range, and $500 sits inside Orkin's $500 to $1,000 and Terminix's $500 to $800 yearly plans. These figures are examples, not recommended prices.
